First morning in Dublin |
Monday 21st April 2014,
I arrived at the airport of Dublin at
2pm. I had no accommodation for the night and no food. The first thing that I
did was to called Arnaud, another EGC 2 student currently in Erasmus program.
He welcomed me the time to find another place. During these two days in
Arnaud accommodation, I could see a large part of Dublin because Arnaud lives
at the exact opposite of Pure Magic. My Skateboard was and is my best friend to
move in Dublin.
Dublin: a cosmopolite city

The Spire of Dublin |
I was thinking Dublin was a very big city
where it rains all the time, but actually it is not. Dublin is in fact a little
capital with half a million inhabitants and my first week here was very sunny.
Dublin is a very cosmopolitan place, by many ways. First by its monuments, from the old Christ Church to the all new Spire of Dublin, then by its habitants with a lot of immigrants from all around the world, and to conclude by its landscape with a lot of contrast between the city, the parks and the seafronts.
Living in Dublin
Irish people love their country, love to
share their traditions and love to show the beauty of their land. Since my arrival
in Dublin, I could see these friendly behaviours; people want to help you and
to make you feel comfortable. They make the effort to understand you even if
you are in difficulty with your English. Christianity was and is still really important in Ireland, irish people are still really believer. It is why you can see a lot of Church in Dublin. From Christ Church built in the tenth century to St Gabriel Church built in the twentieth century.
Dublin is an expensive city, from the transports to the foods. I am not paid in my work placement and I have not Erasmus scholarship because I do only two months of internship, so I have to find many solutions to save my moneys. It is why Catherine loan me her very nice bike and why I do my shopping at Lidl. Of course my meals often consist of spaghetti and ham.
I will try to discover the most of Dublin and Ireland during my two month's work placement. There are a lot of things to see and to enjoy here, I will share all of it by my photo stream.

My first Guinness in a Pub at Temple Bar |
Dublin is a nice place to live. It is a
rich European Capital located by the sea and is the European headquarter of the
biggest I.T companies, such as Google, Facebook, Yahoo !, Amazon…
It is a young and animate city. The night-live reputation of Temple Bar is international. Temple Bar is an
area well known for its Pubs, Nightclubs and restaurants. There are always
bands or musicians playing music in Temple Bar, the atmosphere is always
festive and everyone share good moments around a Guinness. Guinness is considering like a history
monument in Ireland. It is the famous local beer that you can find in any pub.
It is the most selling alcoholic drink in Ireland.
